Why We Built This Site
Public access to Hawaiʻi court files depends on choosing the Judiciary office that keeps the requested record. The appropriate Judiciary clerk is the keeper of the docket - the running list of filings, parties, and settings for each case. The Third Circuit courts hold the dockets: they schedule hearings, hear cases, and enter dispositions. eCourt Kōkua pulls case indexes together so a name or case number can be looked up in one place. Add specialty courts and separate criminal and civil divisions, and the picture gets crowded fast. We pull together the contact details, search portals, case-number formats, and request steps for each of these offices into one place.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket guides: how criminal dockets and civil dockets are searched and read in Hawaii County
- Court dates and settings: how to read the court calendar and confirm a hearing date or setting
- Case lookups: how to run a case search by party name or case number through the statewide portal
- Record requests: how court records and certified copies are requested from the appropriate Judiciary clerk
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Hawaiʻi court, Judiciary clerk, or state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- The website cannot pull an official docket sheet or case file for anyone
- The website cannot change, reschedule, or reset a court date or hearing setting
- The website cannot remove, seal, or amend a case on any docket
- The website cannot issue certified copies of any docket, order, or court document
- The website cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- The website cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or setting listed on the website is current right now
Only the appropriate Judiciary clerk or the Third Circuit court that heard the case can issue an official or certified copy of a docket sheet or court record. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
Search Partners
Some pages on the website include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When you use one of those tools and it leads to a paid signup, the operator may earn a referral fee. That revenue helps keep the website free for visitors. The website does not control what those tools charge or what shows up in their results.
